Description

Château Lynch-Bages 2007

Situated at the entrance of Pauillac, Château Lynch Bages is an estate that has left its mark on the history of the Médoc wine region. Although the terroir of Bages has been known since the 16th century, it wasn’t until the 18th century that it gained recognition. With the son of an Irish citizen named Thomas Lynch at the helm, the Bages wine was recognised at the Universal Exhibition in Paris. Château Lynch-Bages became part of the J-M Cazes family on the eve of the Second World War and is one of the finest references among the fine Pauillac wines.

Château Lynch-Bages watches over an exceptional 90-hectare vineyard, planted on Garonne gravel.

A contrasting winter preceded a cool spring, with rainfall that did not make up for the cumulative water deficit of recent years. From July 15th to September 24th, the hot and arid weather conditions had an impact on the grapes’ uneven ripeness and size. Veraison, like flowering, was slow. This terroir’s typical deep and clayey gravels alleviate the water stress and ensure that the grapes ripen progressively until the harvest.
